Osight R Uses a T1/T2 Footprint

One notable feature of the new Osight R is its use of the Micro T1/T2 mounting footprint.

That gives the optic access to a large selection of existing mounts in different heights and configurations instead of requiring owners to use a proprietary mounting system.

The Osight R is an enclosed-emitter 1x rifle optic with a selectable 2 MOA dot and 65 MOA circle reticle. The dot, circle, or both can be selected depending on preference.

It uses a standard CR2032 battery, includes shake-awake functionality, and has 9 daylight and 3 night-vision brightness settings. The housing is constructed from 7075-T6 aluminum and carries an IPX8 water-resistance rating.

Using the established T1/T2 footprint removes one potential barrier for anyone considering the Osight R. The bigger question will be how its durability and long-term reliability compare as more of these optics get into actual use.

Would T1/T2 mount compatibility make the Osight R more appealing to you?
