SIG's new P385 Carry looks like it's going to be one of the more interesting models in the P385 lineup.
The Carry is a 9mm striker-fired pistol with a 4-inch barrel, 7.22-inch overall length, 5.64-inch height and 1.32-inch width. Weight with a magazine is 28.94 ounces.
It uses a full-size grip and comes with 17- and 21-round magazines.
The bigger changes are underneath. The P385 uses an entirely new serialized Fire Control Unit rather than the P320 FCU. It also gets SIG's new Recoil Dampening System, a lower bore axis and the new Trigger Block system.
The grip is interesting too. SIG calls it the MagStrap system. Instead of changing the entire grip module, different MagStraps can change the grip length, circumference and trigger reach.
It's also SIG-LOC PRO optic ready, with direct compatibility for RMR and DPP footprints without an adapter plate.
For somebody looking at the P385 as a carry gun, the big question is probably whether the 28.94-ounce weight and full-size grip are worth the extra capacity and recoil control.
The Carry looks less like a replacement for the P365 and more like a duty-size pistol shortened enough to make concealed carry practical.
