First gun you ever owned?

What was it?
Upon graduation from high school, my foster father gave me an old Snake Charmer II .410 shotgun as a present. Hunted many a squirrel with it! Fun little shotgun!

First gun I ever owned was a Winchester .22LR rifle, tubular magazine.
I was way underage so my mother bought it for me. This was late 1960s - early 1970s.
First handgun I bought myself a couple weeks after turning 21 was a Ruger Security 6.
It was the stainless 6-inch barrel, .357 magnum. That was the spring of 1978.

Didn't everyone back then, including kids have .22 rifles??

I don't know about everyone, but everyone I knew did.
Gone are the days when you could drive your pickup truck to school with a rack of rifles/deer guns in the back window.

I'm wouldn't be surprised if schools haven't tried to make it so high school students can't get a hunting license until after they graduate.

I grew up in a non-rural area, so didn't start out with a .22 or .410 long gun. My dad did take me to an indoor range a couple of times, and I shot an H&R .22 double action revolver then.

My first firearm was a Colt Combat Commander, Series 70, satin nickel finish, in .45 acp. Somehow the noise and recoil wasn't as bad as I'd expected.

I've been shooting and around guns as long as I can remember; it was one of my father's passions. But I never personally bought my own gun until around 2004, when I bought a Bersa Thunder .380. I love it, and since then have acquired Bersas in all calibers. But not *just* Bersas <grin>
